Tecdelioğlu: “The average export unit price of the sector is 5.2 dollars”

Stating that the average export unit price of the hardware sector (the average of the first 30 GTIP) is 5.2 dollars, Çetin Tecdelioğlu, Chairman of the Hardware Industrialists and Businessmen Association (HISİAD), said that the 2020 average was calculated as 3.7 dollars. Tecdelioğlu said, “Export unit prices are of critical importance for the future of our country. Our exporters need to follow a competitive price policy on a global scale while selling their products. We must sell what we export at the prices we deserve, equal to our production quality. As the hardware sector, we have been in an effort to increase our unit value for years. We have started to reap the fruits of this work, ”he said.

“Time to export all over the world”

Stating that foreign currency input has a vital importance for the Turkish economy on both a macro and micro scale, Tecdelioğlu said: “At this point, every valuable businessperson dealing with trade and production in our country should have the following vision; How can I make my exports sustainable? Our NGOs exist to add value to our producers. As HISİAD, we primarily sweat to make the exports of our industry sustainable. The numbers are the most concrete indication that we are rewarded for our work. Our country’s industry has gained momentum in recent years in terms of production capability and quality. Now is the time to export not only to specific countries, but all over the world. We have no chance other than exports to achieve a stable economic growth. ”

“Container problem and exorbitant increases in freight prices continue”

Noting that the container problem that emerged in the pandemic year and the exorbitant increases in freight prices are still continuing, Çetin Tecdelioğlu said, “Our exporters cannot see their way due to these problems. Who made the agreement; However, we have companies that cannot deliver their goods to their customers due to the container problem. Sticking to the deadline is the number 1 rule of exports. It is of great importance especially for European importers. On the other hand, there are problems such as increase in raw material prices and capital insufficiency in companies. In order to overcome the current account deficit problem of our country, we need to pave the way for our exporters. Our Ministry of Trade and the Turkish Exporters Assembly are carrying out serious studies on the issue. I believe that these precious works will be concluded in 2021, ”he concluded his words.
